Community Showcase - September 2026

Over 50 nominations were made in the Community Highlights Challenge: Brewing, real-life crafts, builds, mods and lots of goats (this community really loves goats).

It probably goes without saying, but you'll need to visit the Discord to fully appreciate many of these (Invite Link).
There's a lot here so let's get straight to it.

We kickstarted the challenge mentioning a couple of recent standouts:

NPC List‍

Every NPC has a unique appearance (not to mention names and skills), Guy has catalogued every one of them with pictures of each!

A pretty monumental undertaking as there are 200 of them. See if you can spot some familiar faces from your base.
On top of the catalogue, he's behind several of the guides covered further down, takes many of the best screenshots in the server, and is also the single most active nominator this round, putting forward nine other people and projects across the thread!

KEG

The Khazad Explorers' Guild (KEG) was the most discussed nomination in the thread and for good reason. They specialise in helping fellow Dwarves who are having a rough time of it down in the mines. In the words of Axbeard:

_{The Khazad Explorers Guild is a group of experienced, veteran RtM players, most of whom were already helping the community before KEG was ever created. These KEGxperts have provided a variety of services to players in need across numerous platforms; Discord, Steam, Reddit, Facebook and even YouTube. Providing assistance with;
- Finding Muznakans
- Finding Ranger Camps
- Navigating the chaos of Barazinbar
- recovering character urns
- discovering the path to Belegost Forge in Sandbox}

and more…

You'll find the Keg thread is active going back to its inception, they are constantly offering a helping hand to the community.
While the community sang their praises, Lead Khanna mskasumi and others took a moment to highlight all the amazing artwork of Spezial K, who created not only the KEG logo, but also the logos of many RTM streamers.

Maps and Guides

Several standout guides and resources came out of this challenge too. Axbeard's build guides cover tips and ideas for construction across the game. mskasumi has a full set of guides on Durin's Folk. eppursimuove9 was the first to map out the First Age Tombs, which are notoriously easy to get lost in. Guy has written several guides of his own on top of the NPC catalogue above. And if you want the reference that ties it all together, there's the RtM Wiki, built out by eppursimuove9, Mereak Firmaxe, and several others.

A couple more worth a look: mskasumi's Guide to Sandbox and her weapons damage chart, and Axbeard's three-year effort tracking down every instance of Khuzdul hidden in the game.

Under the Mountain Community

The Under the Mountain community have been coming together for two years to reshape Moria, with builds, tours, dedicated servers, and more. After their most recent tour, the group sat their dwarves down together to plan out what to build next.

Builds

Grór nominated jimihowiko's take on Durin's Tower as a personal favorite. Mereak Firmaxe's build videos are worth a watch on top of his modding work below. JuBo_1071 has been streaming her builds regularly on Twitch, and DelvingDwarf has a full series dedicated to rebuilding Moria from the ground up.

There were so many great builds submitted to the Challenge but I have to mention that FireManeDavy's builds always end up being a sight to behold. His Upper City Reforged build and its companion video took over a month to edit and now sits at 19,000+ views. Alongside it: his ongoing Durin's Tower build, a Drunken Goat tavern commission for mskasumi (KEG's official tavern, goat stalls included), the Ancestral Courtyard in FireMane Keep, and Raven's Citadel in the lower deeps.
On top of all that, Davy also runs our Reddit, so if you're only following along here or on Discord, that's another place to catch him.

Mods

In recent times modders have been breathing new life into the game for many in the community, we highlighted them in a previous community showcase but it bears repeating. Please do check them out!

IRL Goats and Crafts

‍Hildur, Guy and others have been sharing their love of goats for years now. Hildur seemingly does her Saturday Goat Visits most weeks, while Guy does so several times a year himself. If Hildur skips a week, expect extra goat hugs the next (I never would have considered that goats would be into hugs but it's good to know!)

Of course the mines are also home to many artisans across many crafts:

Nominations this challenge include

- Miremry; brewer of mead, crafter of jewellery and hoarder of ancient tooling!

- Mercury Black; griller of many meats in the #dwarven-life channel

Miremry works gold and gem like the Mírdain of old.

As you can see there was just too much to fit everything, but I imagine we could revisit this challenge topic so keep the recommendations coming!
